Hygge in Print - The Long Game

A short feature article about Hygge Property is in the latest Winter issue of the Ballarat and Central Highlands Living Magazine - a quarterly publication showcasing the best of Ballarat and surrounds in each season.

The article entitled The Long Game talks of the team’s resilience navigating a period of disruption in the construction industry, noting that despite challenging build conditions all Hygge Property projects under construction are progressing well.  

Inevitably but importantly in the current climate, conversations to appoint builders to projects are taking longer, delaying construction start times for some Hygge projects. While this has been frustrating, the team are working proactively to manage future build risks. A quote from the article:

‘We are willing to be patient during this time and focus on the end goal of responsibly delivering on quality – we want to be proud of the places we create’.

The past year has also seen many highs for the Hygge team, including Nightingale Ballarat being awarded a National Award for Sustainability by the Urban Development Industry of Australia.

While the building developed in partnership with Nightingale Housing has many sustainable initiates, the judges also applauded Hygge and the broader team for undertaking a project ‘well beyond business as usual to change the narrative for apartment living in regional locations’.

The motivation for Hygge’s approach to shake up the status quo in the regions is grounded in longevity. This approach permeates early thinking and design, with Hygge prioritising projects in established urban environments – seeking to transform underutilised spaces and creating vibrant communities.

Plans for Hygge’s next projects Daylesford and Bakery Hill are also revealed in the article alongside new images of the Hygge team and the Ballarat Hygge office located on the ground floor of the Nightingale building.
